2013 - POVERTY & CHILD MALNUTRITION
Special Programme Crans Montana Women’s Forum

On the occasion of the forthcoming Crans Montana Forum on Africa to take place in Brussels (Belgium), March 6 to 9, 2013, a Crans Montana Women’s Forum Special Programme will be dedicated to “Fighting Poverty and the issue of Malnutrition”
 
Whilst more than 100 million children under 5 suffer from underweight and every year, malnutrition causes the death of more than 2.5 million of them, many countries, notably in Africa, are facing a deterioration due to the conflicts, their instability or various political deadlocks.
 
Government Officials, political authorities, technical and financial stakeholders, national, regional and international Organisations, NGOs and the private sector are invited to combine their efforts and find the means allowing to prevent these daily disasters.
 
First Ladies are particularly welcome since, as Spouses of Heads of State and Government, they play a key role in shaping and implementing policies in the fight against poverty and hunger.
 
On this occasion, the Crans Montana Forum will launch a major World initiative against Child Malnutrition.

The New Leaders’ Special Programme,  including the Award Ceremony for the Promotion 2013 took place in this framework.

On this occasion, a High-Level Panel was devoted to the Competitiveness of African Ports with an important focus on the securitisation of the continent’s marine space.
 
This Special Meeting gathered the main stakeholders of Maritime Transport & Security : Government Ministers and Officials, Heads of Major Ports & Maritime Organisations, Intelligence and Defense experts as well as specialised companies from around the world.

CRANS MONTANA FORUM ON AFRICA & SOUTH-SOUTH COOPERATION
 
Since 2004, the Crans Montana Forum has been organizing a very successful Political and Economic Forum devoted to Africa and South-South Cooperation.
 
This event brings together Heads of State and Government, Ministers, International Organisations, MPs and Businesses from Europe and all over the world, but more particularly from Africa, the Arab world, South America and the Far East.

Special Meeting of the Club of African Ports

The Club of African Ports meeting on Maritime Security took place in the framework of the:
 
14th International Summit on Transnational Crime & Homeland
and Global Security Forum held in Geneva, Oct. 17-20, 2012
 
On this occasion, a Special High-Level Panel was dedicated to “Maritime Transport Security, threat and challenges” on October 20, 2012. The following issues were tackled:
 
1.Ports and offshore Infrastructure Security
2.Ensuring safe Energy supply routes 
3.Piracy and sea-borne Terrorism : towards pro-active strategies
4.Fighting all kinds of trafficking and illegal fishery : international and regional cooperation
 
The 14th International Summit on Transnational Crime hosted the celebration of the official partnership between the Crans Montana Forum and the Maritime Organization of West and Central Africa (MOWCA) and a special Meeting of the Ministers representing the Member States.

2012 – WOMEN AND PEACE
Special Program with UNESCO & ISESCO

In the framework of the Homeland & Global Security Forum which took place in Geneva (Switzerland), October 17 to 20, 2012, a Special Program devoted to « The key role of Women in Building Peace around the World and in Africa » was co-organized in association with UNESCO, ISESCO and the participation of the CMF New Leaders for Tomorrow.
 
This Program gathered Women from around the World, Lady-Members of Governments and top decision-makers from the public and private sectors.
 
The New Leaders for Tomorrow have been invited to address the crucial role of Youth, Girls and Women in this regard.
