Special Programme dedicated to the Fight against Climate Change in the SIDS

Aboard a cruise ship sailing from Dakhla to Casablanca in the framework of the Crans Montana Forum on Africa & South-South Cooperation, Speakers and participants addressed the major issue of the Fight against Climate Change in Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Moderated by Mr. Henri-Louis Védie, Professor Emeritus at HEC (France), this Special Programme focused on the impacts and consequences of Climate Change on the environment, especially for SIDS. These Small Island Developing States are the least responsible for Climate Change but they are suffering most from its adverse effects.

Among the speakers of this session were Mrs. Debbie Remengesau, First Lady of the Republic of Palau, Mr. Teburoro Tito, Ambassador to the UN & Former President of the Republic of Kiribati and Mr. Raphael Dinelli, Director of the Laboratoire Ocean Vital.
