On the occasion of the Crans Montana Forum on Africa & South-South Cooperation, which will be held in Dakhla (Morocco) from March 18 to 21, 2020, the IUHEI Crans Montana Institute will offer a session of information dedicated to the improvement of global governance in the fight againt illegal financial activities.

Among the key topics :
 

  • Information collection and sharing : collecting, sharing and processing financial intelligence at national and international levels
  • Boosting international Police cooperation : cooperation between the various financial intelligence units and setting-up effective and technical assistance to the least prepared or weakest countries
  • New possibly perverse practices : reflecting on the reality and the excessive scale of the use of anonymous payment methods, new financial technologies resulting from fintech (in particular crypto-actives), mobile banking and alternative financing channels
  • Operational governance : implementing a legal and operational framework for the collection and sharing of information, the fight against anonymity and illicit accumulation, transparency and traceability of financial flows, the prevention of documentary fraud and identity theft
  • Improving the fight thanks to technical innovations : the private sector has improved in developing processes and algorithms which become the best tools for prevention and prosecution authorities
