In the framework of the Crans Montana Forum to be held in Geneva (Switzerland) from November 16 to 19, 2022, a Special programme will be devoted to Food Security.
Among the topics addressed :
- Food security exists when all people always, have physical and money related access to sufficient and nutritious support to meet the dietary needs
- The challenge is to deliver nutritious, safe and affordable food to a population of over 9 billion in the coming decades, using less land, fewer inputs, with less waste and a lower environmental impact while conserving natural resources, and empowering local, regional and national small scale farmers organizations and movements
- Food security requires, pragmatism, a real vision and adapted policies
- Climate change and recent political troubles and crisis affect food production and the supply chains and are a threat to food security in numerous countries
